The DPDP Rules 2025 were notified on 13 November 2025, and most obligations apply from 13 May 2027. CERT-In’s six-hour incident reporting rule already applies today, so breach readiness is worth starting now.

The Act exempts educational institutions from the ban on tracking and monitoring children, but only for educational activities and child safety. Proctoring and attendance fall inside it; admission marketing and retargeting do not. The agent tags each purpose accordingly.
